Shanghai Pudong Meishang Biological Hi-Tech Environmental Protection Co. Ltd. is the first processing factory with daily handling capacity of 1,000 tons as invested by Meishang International Group in the Mainland, covering an area of 209 mu. It boasts total investment of RMB 230 million Yuan, daily processing of urban house refuses equivalent to 1,000 tons and annual production of organic fertilizers about 50,000 tons. It is the first enterprise to process the urban house refuges in such a large scale by means of biochemical technology in the Mainland besides East China Environmental Protection Project Demonstration Base as designated by Meishang International Group. Since commencement of construction as from September 17, 2002, it was completed and put into operation and met the predictive effect within half a year, which boasted qualitative leap in scale, technology, process and equipment. Its establishment marks Meishang biochemical technology has reached the leading level in the world. Such public welfare undertakings are highlighted highly and supported energetically by the local governments, which puts the garbage into comprehensive utilization, protects the ecological environment of human being and brings benefits to future generations.

Process and Technology
1. Biological Composting Treatment System
Meishang Group successfully developed a high-temperature aerobic high-speed fermentation process. Through long-time screening, domestication, purification and recombination of various species from natural soils, high-temperature manures and rotten plants, we gained a microbial complex which is applicable and feasible in the different stages of fermentation while added at proper time, it shortens the fermenting period, lessens the cost, as well eliminates the odors, and improves the quality of organic fertilizers. All that finally achieved the Ħ°3R+DĦħ.

2. Mechanical Automatic Sorting System
According to the particularities of different garbage materials, such as shape, volume, specific gravity, bouncing height while collision in movement, Meishang Group applied the wind force sorting, gravity sorting, magnetic force sorting and bouncing sorting and developed a set of exclusive composite sorting technology. Such system can separate metal, batteries, lighters, wood, textile, paper, plastics, gravels, glasses and etc. the sorting efficiency tops 95% or more and therefore recycles a considerable amount of wastes.

3. Microorganism Complex R&D, Culturing & Spray System
Meishang Multi-functional Microorganism Complex (MMMC) for household wastes biodegradation is a Meishang-developed product that is composed of multi-group microbes and oriented in nature environments. Through a long term specific screening, targeted separation, forced domestication, deep purification and optimized combination, microbial species and strains are co-working with a good compatibility and co-metabolism.

4. Online Monitoring & Control System
Through years of R & D work, Meishang Group gained a real-time online monitoring and control system that satisfies the need of treatment processes. It includes the following units, fermentation temperature detecting unit, fermentation material oxygen content detecting unit, and environment monitoring unit. The entire system records real-time parameter values, saves historical data, develops information curves and charts, provides data printing service, and optimizes processing parameters, which facilitates the adjustment of treatment process and ensures technical and environmental requirements and standards.

5. Secondary Pollution Control & Treatment System
The collection of the emitted gases and the control of the emission source are conducted during the process in accordance with the characteristics of aerobic high-temperature composts. The collected gas is neutralized in biochemical methods aiming at its specific composition and then discharged into the atmosphere under the national environmental standards.
High-concentration leachate is collected through the wastewater collection system and injected into biochemical treatment reactors. During the anaerobic fermentation, the organics are turned into methane gas and reused, and the treated leachate can be recycled and reused in the second-stage composts for the complementation of water content.
