The annual daily average of SO in urban area was 0.051mg/m in 2006, lower than the 2 annual average for the 2nd standard level specified in National Ambient Air Quality Standard (GB3095-1996), 0.006mg/m down than in 2005.

The recent five-year(2002-2006) monitoring data showed that the annual daily average of SO in urban area was lower than the 2nd standard level. However, the SO emission is obvious on the rise.
